Salukis’ women’s Golf places Ninth at Hoover Invitational

The Southern Illinois women’s golf team traveled to Birmingham, Alabama on Monday and Tuesday, September 19-20, to compete in the Hoover Invitational hosted by UAB. SIU’s squad placed ninth out of ten teams at the meet.

Junior Ayanna Habeel was the best performer for the Salukis, scoring 235 over the course of the two days. She was tied for 42nd out of all participants.

South Alabama won the tournament, scoring a total of (+17) over par. They also featured the only contestant to score under par, Greta Rietdorf who finished with (-3).

The Salukis’ women’s golf team will compete next at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic in Wolcott, Colorado. This will take place next week from Monday to Wednesday, September 26-28.
