SIU offering counseling services to students amid COVID-19 outbreak

SIU is offering counseling services to students dealing with anxiety surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak, according to a new posting on the coronavirus webpage.

Counseling and Psychological Services counselors are available to assist students at the Student Health Center Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

CAPS in University Housing (Baldwin Hall) will be open Monday through Sunday from 12:30 to 9 p.m., according to the release.

Students who are not on campus can also access services by calling CAPS at 618-453-5371.

The university offered two websites with strategies for people who feel anxiety related to the coronavirus and suggestions on how to take care of your mental health: Coping with Stress During the COVID-19 Outbreak and Taking Care of Your Mental Health in the Face of Uncertainty.
