Street Bar, Carbondale’s only gay bar, is set to close.

Santana said, in her post, “I got the word from the owner, it’s official.”

In her post, Santana said all the bookings for June have been canceled.

She is not sure what is going to happen next, she said.

“They may open up a smaller bar close to The Old Bar, but … Street Bar is going to be closed,” Santana said.

In her post, Santana thanked all of the Street Bar patrons for their loyalty.

“I want you to stay tuned on Facebook, will still be doing shows at The Varsity once a month, and … we may pop up somewhere,” Santana said. “If they decide to open something up, they decide to have us back, we will be there.”
