Stephanie Speiser, the senior lecturer for the department of animal science food and nutrition was the announcer for the event. Speiser said that though most of the participants are from southern Illinois, there have been FFA members who have made the trip from Springfield to participate.

“We have 402 [FFA members] registered for today,” Speiser said.
