Austin Szubryt, a senior from Mokena studying plant biology, waters plants Tuesday in the Plant Biology Greenhouse on campus.

Szubryt said he studies the biodiversity and the evolutionary relationship of plants and, in particular, “the amazing forms and different habitats they can accustom to.”

The undergraduate researcher has been involved in a few research projects, ranging from field work in Louisiana, to his current research concerning the biogeographical trends of the plant genus — Euthamia.
