SIU baseball came up empty-handed in its trip to Fort Worth, Texas, this weekend.

The Salukis (0-3) played the No. 2 Texas Christian University Horned Frogs (3-0) and was swept in the series.

“I think we learned a lot about our club,” coach Ken Henderson said. “[TCU] is just a tough club. I think it will benefit us in the long run.”

Friday, the Dawgs lost 5-0.

TCU senior Preston Morrison earned the win. SIU senior Aaron Hauge suffered the loss.

Hauge finished with 5 innings pitched, 1 earned run, 4 strikeouts, 2 walks and 3 hits.

“I expected that from him,” Henderson said. “He gave us a chance to win. You’re not going to score a lot of runs on these guys.”

Morrison finished with 7 IP, 0 ER, 3 strikeouts, 2 walks and 3 hits.

Saluki sophomore catcher and outfielder Jake Hand and freshman designated hitter Logan Blackfan finished 2-for-3 to lead the team.
