Junior first baseman Shaye Harre was honored the past two days for her strong performances last week.

Harre was named the Missouri Valley Conference’s Player of the Week and the Prairie Farms Student-Athlete of the Week on Monday.

Tuesday, she was also named the MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Week.

She went 5-8 with four home runs and nine RBIs in SIU’s three wins over Saint Louis and Loyola and also holds a 3.875 GPA in pre-veterinary studies.

This was the first time a Saluki won Player of the Week since Harre won it in April of last year.

Harre’s week was just a continuation of her hot season. She has career highs in batting average (.409), home runs (seven), slugging percentage (.818) and on-base percentage (.524).
