Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville hosted the Derek Dolenc Invitational on Tuesday, Sept 27 in which the SIU Salukis took third place. This was Southern Illinois’ best performance of the season so far.

The top performer for the Salukis was at the hands of sophomore Braden Hoisington, who scored a total of 213 at the event. This was good enough for sixth place, his third top-10 finish of the year.

This performance also happened to be his career low, along with freshman Blake Skornia.

Skornia finished with a total of 216 (+3) which was good enough for second-best on the team. He tied for ninth at the Invitational.

Southern Illinois scored 874 points overall, only trailing Idaho (1st; 865) and Weber State ( 2nd; 867)

The Salukis plan to compete in their next meet on October 3-4, where they will participate in the Georgia State Invitational, hosted by Georgia State.
