Trump supporters prepare for “Justice for J6” rally

The conservative political organization Look Ahead America is hosting a rally on Saturday, Sept. 18th called “Justice for J6” in support of the insurrectionists arrested for the Capitol Riot on Jan. 6

The rally is taking place at Union Square in Washington D.C from 12:00 –  1:15 p.m EST, and about  700 people are expected to attend.

According to the organization’s website, its mission is to “register, educate, and enfranchise these disaffected citizens and ensure that their voices are not just heard, but heeded, and that the American Dream becomes their dream again.”

Republican congressional candidates Mike Collins and Joe Kent are a part of the speaker lineup for the rally.

The D.C. police are ramping up security with new cameras, fencing and roadblocks around the Capitol building. The police department is said to be fully activated with the National Guard on standby in the case something breaks out.

D.C. police had a briefing on Friday to talk about their plans to keep the Capitol and people safe.

“The American public and the members of Congress have an expectation that we protect the Capitol,” said the Chief of U.S. Capitol Police J. Thoman Manger at the briefing. “And I’m confident with the plan we have in place that we are going to meet that expectation.”
