One death and 34 new COVID-19 cases in Jackson County

Jackson County Health Department reported one death and 34 new cases of COVID-19 on Nov. 19.

The cases included: two under 10 years, one preteen, four teens, 10 in their twenties, six in their thirties, three in their forties, two in their fifties, four in their sixties, one in her seventies and one in his eighties.

As of Nov. 19, there have been 2,333 confirmed cases in Jackson County and 30 deaths, according to the release, and 58 individuals have been released from isolation in accordance with CDC guidelines.

Franklin and Williamson Counties reported 132 cases (day).

Statewide, the Illinois Department of Health reported 14,612 confirmed cases on Nov. 19 and 168 additional deaths.

As of Nov. 19, there have been 621,383 positive cases in the state of Illinois and 11,178 deaths.

The Jackson County Health Department asks all residents to follow public health guidelines by wearing a mask in public, maintaining social distance, avoiding social gatherings, washing hands frequently and working with health department officials as they conduct contact tracing.
