Rep. Mike Bost tests positive for COVID-19

In a statement released on his social media accounts, Illinois’ 12th district’s congressional representative Mike Bost, announced he tested positive for COVID-19 last night on Oct. 8th. 

“I experienced a mild cough and a rapid loss of both taste and smell and recognized it was important to get tested immediately,” Bost said.  

Bost said he is postponing his public event schedule but will host virtual meetings while he is in isolation.

Any staff that was in close contact with Rep. Bost is quarantined until they test negative. Bost said he is also planning on reaching out to anyone he met with recently.

Bost recently visited Granite City on Oct. 8th and SIUE’s campus with SIUE Chancellor Randy Pembrook and Illinois’s 13th District Rep. Rodney Davis on Oct. 6th.
