SIU halts chancellor interviews amid coronavirus pandemic

By Kallie Cox, News Editor

The university is halting all interviews with potential candidates for chancellor of SIUC because of growing fears of the coronavirus, according to a release by system president Dan Mahony.

Mahony said he has contacted the search committee about how to move forward and he will continue to work with interim chancellor John Dunn.

“The timeline for COVID-19 remains uncertain and the situation changes almost hourly,” Mahony said. “I appreciate your support and understanding as we continue to receive new information, guidance and direction and then change these and other plans accordingly.”
