Carbondale Police investigate early morning robbery

Carbondale police officers responded at 1:13 a.m. on Feb. 28 to the 300 block of S. Marion St. in reference to a strong armed robbery. 

According to a press release, three suspects approached the victim and one of them took his wallet. The same suspect punched the victim as he attempted to retrieve it. 

All three suspects fled the scene on foot and the victim sustained minor injuries, which did not require medical treatment.

One of the suspects was described as a black male, 5 feet and 11 inches tall, with a thin build wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, shorts and sandals. 

The other two suspects were described as black females, one 5 feet and 4 inches, the other 5 feet and 6 inches. The first woman was a thinner build wearing a white jacket with a green hood and the other woman was wearing a white puffy jacket and gray pants, with a long dreadlock hairstyle. 

The investigation is currently active and ongoing and no names are being released at this time.
