Globetrotters dance into Carbondale

By Tyler Dixon

Fans of all ages made SIU Arena home Thursday evening to watch the Harlem Globetrotters take on the World All-Stars.

The Globetrotters were able to showcase their basketball abilites as well as their dance moves when the entire team danced to Blurred Lines in the third quarter.

Heath Raines, of Murphysboro, attended the game with his wife Jessica and sons Toby and Nathan.

Toby, an eight-year-old, won the tickets through the Box Top program at his school.

“It’s fun time for the kids,” Jessica Raines said.

Heath Raines said he hasn’t seen the Harlem Globetrotters in more than 30 years.
