Opening Day blues
March 31, 2014
Pat Stute, 57, of Anna, is consoled by his wife, LaDonna Stute, Monday at Pinch Penny Pub after the Chicago Cubs 1-0 loss to the Pittsburg Pirates. The couple has been married for 30 years and says opening day is their favorite day of the year. “I’m a Cubs fan born and bred,” Pat said. “It’s the start of baseball, and baseball is life.” LaDonna Stute was a New York Yankees fan, but said her husband is responsible for her making the switch. “She’s a Cubs fan now,” he said. “The transition didn’t take long.”
