Provost John Nicklow has been reassigned to administrative duties, according to an email obtained by the Daily Egyptian.

Nicklow will be assigned within the College of Engineering and an interim provost will be appointed at the Sept. 11 Board of Trustees meeting.

Interim Chancellor Paul Sarvela said in a press release Nicklow will teach and conduct research.

Nicklow came to SIU in 1998 and was named provost in May 2011. Prior to serving as provost, he was Associate Dean of the College of Engineering.
