A confrontation ended with one man in the hospital and another in jail Tuesday. 

Preston Turner, 51, of Park Hills, Mo., and the victim, an unidentified male family member, were arguing at a home in the 500 block of East Sycamore Street in Carbondale when Turner waved a knife and cut the other man twice, according to a Carbondale Police press release.

The victim was treated for serious but not life-threatening injuries, according to the release.

Turner was arrested for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and incarcerated at Jackson County Jail.
