As we all await the beginning of a well deserved vacation from classwork, please be reminded that in a short two days upon returning to SIUC the March 19th primary election will be held. It is important that we all exercise our right to vote.

This year local and pressing issues, such as Amtrak funding, have joined our more traditional concerns for equal access to quality education and the creation of jobs in our region. John Rendleman, Democratic candidate for state representative, 115th district, has done more than just express his concerns on these issues. He has outlined a plan, Operation Homefront, to better our community and region. Operation Homefront provides the direction toward our shared goals of a quality education for the youth of our community and increased employment opportunities to the benefit of us all.
