Police deployed pepper spray during an arrest to disperse the crowd after they and the person being arrested were targeted by bottles and cans being thrown on Saturday at Aspen Court Apartments, according to a Carbondale Police Department press release.

On Saturday, “Solar Bear” parties were held around Carbondale. Aspen had an estimated peak of 1,000 participants.

No injuries were reported from any officers, bystanders or the arrestee, according to the release.

CPD reported 27 citations issued to party goers, 19 for underage possession or consumption of alcohol, three for public possession of alcohol, one for public urination, three for resisting a peace officer and one for obstructing identification.
