A 23-year-old man from McHenry reported his 1992 Jeep was broken into between 1:30 and 2 a.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of South Illinois Avenue. The victim reported his window was shattered, and a 35-mm camera was stolen. The item was valued at $450. Police have no suspects.

Chika Okasili, 20, of Murphysboro, was arrested at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday for criminal trespassing to government-supported property and theft of services at the Recreation Center. Okasili received a no trespass letter from the Intramural Recreational Sports in September 1995, but he reportedly used someone else’s identification card to get into the Recreation Center Tuesday. Okasili was released after posting $100 bond.
A 23-year-old student reported that between 1:30 and 2:20 a.m. Wednesday, his car was broken into while parked at lot 14 near the University Park Commons. Police reported forced entry. The victim’s car was scratched, and his antenna was bent. Items stolen were a set of keys, two hats, a pair of gym shoes and sunglasses. Damage and loss was estimated at $200.
