Two Saluki football players have been given player of the week honors for their performances against Indiana on Saturday.

Senior quarterback Mark Iannotti earned both the STATS Football Championship Subdivision National co-Offensive Player of the Week and Missouri Valley Football Conference co-Offensive Player of the Week honors for his record-setting performance.

Senior right tackle Ethan Wirth was named MVFC offensive lineman of the Week.

Iannotti’s 517 yards of total offense — 411 yards passing and 106 yards rushing — tied him for second place in MVFC history for a single game, and broke the SIU record held by current co-offensive coordinator and quarterback coach Nick Hill of 421. Iannotti also became the first 400-100 quarterback in SIU history.

Wirth, according to the MVFC press release, was the top-graded offensive lineman in the conference.

This is Wirth’s second time earning the award.
