Lebels Store, 203 W. Main St., was burglarized between 3 and 4:45 a.m. Thursday. A passerby noticed a broken front window and notified the police. Police searched the building but no one was found. Numerous coats and clothes were stolen from the store. The amount lost is unknown. Police do not have any suspects.
February 2, 1998
A 32-year-old Carbondale man reported that he was robbed at 5:50 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of South Wall Street. The man told police that a black male approached him and asked him for a light. When he reached into his pocket another black male grabbed him from the behind. The two men stole $160 in cash and fled. The victim was not injured in the incident. The suspects have not been located.
