Expressing the importance of culture, heritage and tradition, Around the World, the 51st annual Theta Xi Variety Show will take main stage Saturday.

The show, 8 p.m. at Shryock Auditorium, will feature singers, dancers, comedians and large group skit competitions. Many of the performers are members of SIUC fraternities and sororities.

Performances will portray diverse cultures, and proceeds from the show will go toward providing scholarships to students.

There’s no doubt about it this year’s show will blow all the others away, show director Nikki Snyder said. Since the theme is Around the World,’ we’ll be able to capture everyone’s attention with the various mini-themes from Sweden, Italy, Germany and Mexico. It’s going to be great.
