‘Final Fantasy VII Remake’ to be a series
At the PlayStation Experience press conference on Dec. 6, Square-Enix announced the “Final Fantasy VII” remake will release in multiple entries.
The publisher claims the game will be “told across a multi-part series, with each entry providing its own unique experience.”

In a report from Kotaku.com, Square-Enix confirmed, “As a gaming experience, each entry will have the volume of content equal to a full-sized game.”
They are also changing the gameplay formula from the traditional game. A trailer was presented during the PlayStation experience showing that the game is much more action heavy than before. Some fans are bound to be upset by this change, but I cannot blame the developers wanting to modernize the game in order to sell more.
At face value this seems like it might be Square-Enix trying to milk as much as it can from the one of its most popular games. Square-Enix is not quite the juggernaut it once was and the Final Fantasy franchise is at a low point in its history. This is certainly a plausible outcome for a recovering company.
We have no idea how robust these entries will be and anything the developer says to justify it does not seem like a good enough reason.
Perhaps the company will prove its point when the game finally releases, but if each entry feels short or lacking in features it would be huge disappointment for fans.
Cyberpunk 2077 reported to release late 2016

“The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” developer CD Projekt RED’s next game “Cyberpunk 2077” may be released in late 2016, much earlier than anticipated.
According to Gamereactor Germany and Destructoid, a source close to the developer said the studio plans to release the game in 2016.
Early this year, CD Projekt RED claimed it would primarily focus on “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” additional content but perhaps they were not as focused on it as originally believed.
I am both excited and concerned for this news at the same time. CD Projekt RED is a skilled developer and I have faith it will do a good job on any game it creates. However, we still have yet to see anything about the game other than a cinematic trailer and we have no idea how far along the game is.
The creators are not known for rushing their games, so chances are the game is further in development than expected and we will get another great game sooner than expected.
Ni No Kuni Sequel announced
At the PlayStation Experience on Dec. 5, Bandai Namco Entertainment announced “Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom” for the PlayStation 4.
Developed by Level-5, the game will feature a new storyline and characters. No information on a release date was given.
I never played the original “Ni No Kuni” but it was praised for being a high quality game.
Japanese role-playing games used to be the hottest genre in gaming, but today they are a more niche market. It is always good to see more games from this classic genre being made.
