The Arista recording star will bring her hip R&B/rock style to Southern Illinois and treat her fans to songs from her latest album “M!SSUNDAZTOOD” such as “Get This Party Started,” “Just Like A Pill” and “Don’t Let Me Get Me.”

Pink recently appeared on the MTV Music Awards and grabbed a VMA for Best Dance Video and Best Female Video. She won her first MTV award in 2001 for her part in the “Lady Marmalade” quintet, which also added a prestigious Grammy award to her list of achievements. In 2000 she was named Billboard Magazine’s best new female artist.

“M!SSUNDASTOOD” peaked at No. 6 on Billboard Music’s top 200 albums and is currently sitting comfortably at No. 14 after being on the charts for 43 weeks.

The album features performances by guest artists Steven Tyler and Richie Sambora. Linda Perry, former lead singer of the all female band 4 Non Blondes, helped write and produce half of the album, giving it an edgier rock feel.

Pink’s persona alone promises eager fans an exciting night this Saturday. She won’t have to get the party started at SIU. It will be ready and hopping long before she takes the stage.

Tickets are $29.50 and are available at the Arena box office and all TicketMaster locations. SIUC students attending the show will receive a $5 discount with a valid student ID. (Discount only available at the SIU Arena)
