Donald Chamberlain, a second-year graduate student in social work student from Carbondale, chants with participates of a march organized by the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity on Jan. 18 at SIU. “I definitely think [Martin Luther King, Jr.] has changed people’s lives,” said Chamberlain. “He’s changed the way we view our country, the way we view people in our country.” Chamberlain said he believes King’s legacy is one that cannot by tainted and one that will always be remembered. “We have a lot of work to do still and I think that, when doing the work, we have to remember everything that he stood for.”
