An SIU student reported to a Campus Security Authority that she was sexually assaulted last month by an unidentified SIU student in Mae Smith Hall, according to SIU police’s daily crime log.

The assault, which SIU police’s crime log says occurred Jan. 30, was reported on Feb. 4. The case is being reviewed by the university’s Office of Diversity and Equity. 

This is the first reported sexual assault this year by an SIU student to the university’s police. The last one listed on SIU police’s crime log was reported Dec. 5 by an 18-year-old SIU student, who says she was assaulted in Schneider Hall by an acquaintance, a 19-year-old SIU student.
