SIU travels to Southeast Missouri State

Devin Pringle runs in the men’s 200-meter race on Saturday, March 20, 2021, at the SIU Lew Hartzog Track and Field Complex in Carbondale, Ill.

Southern Illinois track and field team traveled to SEMO Friday for the Joey Haines International. 

For women, freshman Jalynn Wood finished sixth out of 16 competitors in javelin, senior Britney Mosby finished sixth in triple jump and Kasha Nielly finished fourth in 400m hurdles with a time of 1:06.57.

Also for women’s, Dahja Price finished second out of 26 athletes in the 100m with a time of 11.91.

Three Salukis placed top ten in women’s discus, Christine Nosike, Tracey Gooch, and Matisen Ingle. Ingle also placed seventh in hammer. 

On the men’s side Lamark Threadgill and Bryson Wilson both placed top ten in the 200m. Freshman Dyson Roye finished second overall in pole vault and two Salukis placed top five in shot put, senior Coke Targgart place second and sophomore Daniel Norris placed fourth. 

The Salukis will be back in action April 7 hosting the Bill Cornell Invitational at the Lew Hartzog Track and Field Complex.
