Two First Place finishers, and One school record broken for the Dawgs at Indiana Relays

This weekend the SIU track and field team traveled to Indiana to test their skills in Bloomington.

Dawson Plab and Iaunia Pointer highlighted the weekend for SIU track and field, with a first-place finish coming from each. Plab won the men’s high jump with a 2.07m height and Pointer won the 200m dash yet again with a 23.81 time.

Although not finishing in first, Rachel Anderson stood out this weekend for her new record-setting time in SIU program’s history with a 16:34.60 time in the 5000m run. She earned a third-place finish with the time.

Pointer also earned third in the 60m dash with a 7.58 time and Shauniece O’Neal finished third as well in the weight throw competition with a distance of 20.96m.

Freshmen Xavier Preston finished second in the 60m and 200m dash events with a 6.85 and 21.24 time and Jadon Robertson earned second in the high jump competition with a 1.99m distance.

The Salukis will compete once again next weekend in New York for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights Open on both February 3rd and 4th.
