Gallery: SIU students try to avoid making a “pool” out of themselves
Lucaia Romaero, an undergraduate student in the Electrical Engineering Department from Spain, loses her balance and falls off the rope at the April Pools Day event on Thursday, April 1, 2021, at the SIU Recreation Center in Carbondale, Ill. “It feels great to be here and make new friends. This is my first experience on the rope,” Romaero said.
In honor of April 1, Touch of Nature organized April Pools Day for SIU students and Recreational Sports and Services members to try slacklining over the pool at the SIU Student Recreation Center.
The goal of the game was to reach the other side without making a “pool” out of yourself.
The event started at 5 p.m. and ended at 8 p.m. In order to maintain social distancing, there were four sessions of the event.
