An inmate was found dead in a Jackson County Jail cell, according to a press release by the Jackson County Sheriff’s department. 

The inmate, 34 year-old Kevin F Widdows, was awaiting a trial for home invasion charges when he was found on February 2nd according to court records. 

Widdows’s death is being investigated by the Illinois State Police, and his autopsy is scheduled for February 4th. 

Widdow’s mother, Alice Widdows, declined to comment on the case and his attorney, Timothy Ting, could not be reached for comment on the case.
