SIU basketball programs announce postponements, rescheduled matchups

The Southern Illinois women’s basketball team (5-4, 2-2 MVC) had to postpone their series against Loyola (Jan. 15-16) at the Gentile Arena and they postponed the series against Valparaiso (Jan. 22-23) at the Banterra Center.

The postponements were due to a positive COVID-19 test in the Salukis Tier 1 personnel, which includes athletes, coaches and staff.

The MVC has announced the rescheduled dates for these games, the series against Loyola will take place Jan. 30-31 and the series against Valparaiso will take place Feb. 27-28.

SIU men’s basketball program (7-3, 1-3 MVC) had to postpone their series against Indiana State (Jan. 9-10) and their series against Valparaiso (Jan. 16-17) due to a positive COVID-19 test in their Tier 1 personnel.

The series against Indiana State has been rescheduled for Jan. 25-26 and the Valparaiso series was rescheduled to Feb. 20-21. 

The MVC also announced game-date changes for a number of other games in the conference.
