Jackson county reports 26 new cases of COVID-19

Jackson County Health Department reported 26 new cases of COVID-19 and one death during the last 48 hours.

There have been 3,543 confirmed cases in Jackson County and 55 deaths, according to the release, and 3,128 individuals have been released from isolation in accordance with CDC guidelines.

Franklin and Williamson Counties reported 34 new cases Saturday.

Statewide, the Illinois Department of Health reported 3,293 new cases and  66 additional deaths.

There have been 934,142  positive cases in the state of Illinois and 15,865 deaths.

The Jackson County Health Department asks all residents to follow public health guidelines by wearing a mask in public, maintaining social distance, avoiding social gatherings, washing hands frequently and working with health department officials as they conduct contact tracing.
