COVID-19 Update: Jackson County reports 34 new cases

Jackson County Health Department reported 34 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday.

The individuals who were notified of positive COVID-19 test results include three individuals under the age of 10, two teenagers, nine individuals in their 20s, six in their 30s, five in their 40s, three in their 50s, four in their 60s, and two individuals in their 70s.

Jackson County Health Department is currently monitoring a total of 431 active cases of COVID-19, and there have been a total of 2,787 cases confirmed to date.

There have also been a total of 2,324 individuals released from isolation as of Tuesday.

Franklin and Williamson counties reported 88 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday.

There have been a total of 3,785 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Williamson County to date and 2,175 confirmed cases in Franklin County to date, and a total of 3,108 recoveries.

Illinois Department of Public Health reported a total of 12,542 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, as well as 125 additional deaths.

According to Illinois Department of Public Health, “The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from November 24 – November 30, 2020, is 10.4%. The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity from November 24 – November 30, 2020, is 12.2%.”

The Jackson County Health Department asks all residents to follow public health guidelines by wearing a mask in public, maintaining social distance, avoiding social gatherings, washing hands frequently and working with health department officials as they conduct contact tracing.
