Carbondale man charged with forgery and possession

Police arrested a Carbondale man for forgery and possession of a controlled substance Friday after responding to a forgery complaint.

An individual attempted to use a counterfeit $20 bill to purchase goods, according to a Carbondale Police Department press release. The incident was reported by a business in the 300 block of East Walnut Street.

During their investigation officers discovered Kenneth Howder in possession of counterfeit money, materials for making counterfeit money and controlled substance, according to the release.

Howder was transported to Jackson County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing and police said there is no new information at this time.
