The SIU parking division will be waiving parking ticket fees with a minimum donation of six canned goods per ticket issued this semester.

One citations up to $35 may be waived from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the parking division main office, or at the satellite office in the Student Center on Oct. 31.

The event, “Can Your Parking Fine,” will benefit the Saluki Food Pantry. The event will accept only canned fruit and protein, such as canned tuna and oranges.

The food pantry opened in 2016 and has been providing food for food-insecure students since.

The pantry is always accepting donations, and accepts pastas, canned meats, peanut butter, soups and more. For a full list, visit the Saluki Food Pantry website.

Any late fees must be paid prior to the donation to waive the citation.
