Second suspect arrested after shooting that injured three

A second suspect has been arrested for the shooting that took place on Sept. 14 near the Eurma Hayes Center that injured three, according to a release by the Carbondale Police.

The first suspect arrested in reference to the shooting was a 17 year-old and was apprehended on Sept. 16.

Jamal Q. Humes, 35, of Carbondale was arrested on Sept. 22 on a warrant for charges of Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapons by a Felon, Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Possession of a Firearm without a FOID, according to the release. Officers took Humes to the Jackson County Jail.

“All of the shooting victims, to include Humes, received treatment and have been released,” the release said. “Investigators determined a dispute amongst acquaintances led to the shooting incident.”
