One injured after shooting Friday night in Carbondale

Correction: The original release by the University Police indicated the victim was a student. The victim is not affiliated. 

Carbondale Police are investigating a shooting that took place just before 10 p.m. Friday night on the 300 block of East Hester Street. An SIU student received non-life-threatening injuries, according to a release by the SIU Department of Public Safety.

The suspect is alleged to have driven away in an unidentified vehicle.
