SIU to hold I.T. Day conference

I.T. Day 2019 will be returning to the SIU campus on March 14 with 35 presentations, demonstrations and tours for the public.

I.T. Day is a free annual technology conference held at SIU, and is the largest technology conference in the southern Illinois area.

This year’s program centers around the theme “Driving Success with Technology.” It is not intended to be intensive and will provide participants with new thought provoking ideas.

These will include topics such as technology in the workplace, technological tools, advanced supercomputing and more, according to a university press release.

Experts will be conducting discussions and presentations throughout the day and educators who plan to attend the event will receive 5.75 professional development credits.

Presenters will include Meera Komarraju, interim provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs; Jeromy Franks, senior education advisor for Gartner; and Dr. Bruce DeRuntz, leadership development program director and professor at SIU College of Engineering, among others.

To attend the program you must register on the I.T. Day 2019 website. Spots are limited so preregistration is advised. Breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided.

The event will take place in Morris Library from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
