Nancy Ivastanin, left, of Lake of Egypt, is served appetizers Saturday during the Fall Gala and 50th Anniversary celebration of the Newman Catholic Center. Ivastanin said this was her first time attending the Fall Gala. “My husband and I heard of it through the Knights of Columbus in Herrin and decided to check it out,” Ivastanin said. The gala included live entertainment, a silent auction and a prime rib dinner.
