For the second straight week, SIU’s freshman forward Abby Brockmeyer was selected by the Missouri Valley Conference as the Newcomer of the Week.

Brockmeyer became the third player in program history to receive the award in consecutive weeks and joined Stephany Neptune and Cartaesha Macklin as the only Salukis to do so.

In the young season, the forward has already earned two double-doubles in only four games with an average 13.8 points per game. She also led the team in rebounds with 8.8 rebounds per game in Southern’s first four contests.
