Evelyn Eddings, 9, of Anna, listens to her instructor, Ramona Twellman, of Makanda, Sunday at Giant City Stables in Makanda. Eddings said she started riding horses with her mother Amanda Eddings at the age of 3 by riding the route. “I think I do better on the boy horses than the girls,” Evelyn said. Amanda said there has been a significant change since Evelyn started lessons with Twellman more than a year ago. “It’s made us a better mother and daughter,” Amanda said. Both Amanda and Evelyn volunteer at the stables on the weekends.
