Carbondale police responded to a shooting late Friday night on the 500 block of South Ash Street, according to a news release sent by the department.

Officers found one person with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound at about 10:07 p.m. The individual, who was not identified in the news release, was taken to the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for treatment.

There are no suspects in custody in what appears to be an isolated incident unrelated to the university, the release said. The investigation is ongoing.
