Carbondale man sentenced for parole violation

Charles Thomas was sentenced to two years in prison for unlawful possession of a controlled substance on June 22 in the Jackson County Circuit Court.
Thomas was arrested on October 3, 2013 for outstanding warrants, according to a press release from State Attorney Michael Carr. After that arrest, police found him violating the terms of his probation by being in possession of cocaine.
In court, Thomas pled guilty to unlawful possession of a controlled substance on July 16, 2014, according to court documents.

On April 27, the court revoked his parole. The sentencing on June 22 resulted from the courts findings, according to the press release.
