Coach Barry Hinson on Thursday announced junior guard Austin Siler left the team to focus on academics.

Siler was a walk-on this season and previously attended Lincoln Trail, where he was on the all-conference and second team all-area teams. He averaged 14.3 points a game and shot 44 percent from behind the three-point arc.

Siler played two minutes in the Salukis’ 81-51 win over Florida A&M on Sunday and had one assist.
