Kojima partners with Sony

Sony has announced a partnership with Hideo Kojima and his new independent development studio Kojima Productions. Their plan is to create a new game for the PlayStation 4 and PC.

Kojima revealed on Twitter his situation with his previous employer, Konami.

“My employment contract with Konami has been terminated as of Dec. 15, so today marks a new start for me. I’m committed to be involved in creative activities for as long as I live.”

Kojima Productions announced “the studio will begin focusing its efforts in developing products that will push the boundaries in innovation and ignite consumer interest worldwide.”

Kojima and Konami were rumored to have a troubled relationship this past year during the development and release of “Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.” His departure from the company has been expected for some time.

While it’s slightly disappointing the game will not come to the Xbox, pretty much everything about this is good news. Based on the rumors it sounded as if the best thing for Kojima was to start fresh, and this partnership with Sony is exactly that.

I am happy that one of gaming’s most legendary developers will continue making games for fans to enjoy.

Microsoft Controllers sell out instantly

Xbox One’s customizable elite controllers are selling so well Microsoft is struggling to keep store shelves stocked.

Xbox Head Phil Spencer responded to a fan on Twitter by saying, “I’m glad you found one. We keep shipping more, in but they sell out instantly.”

I have yet to pick one up myself. By the time I get around to researching about them, they are sold out everywhere.

I hear nothing but good things about the controllers and perhaps one day I will get my hands on one.

Next ‘Battlefield’ in development

According to Development Director Dan Vaderlind of EA DICE, the company is now working on the next entry in the “Battlefield” series.

“Now that we’ve shipped Battlefront and a part of the team continues to work on it, I am moving on to another project, the next Battlefield,” Vaderlind said on Twitter.

Since EA DICE released “Star Wars: Battlefront,” it is not surprising they would move onto the next game in the super popular “Battlefield” series. It is one of the biggest franchises in video games and will most likely generate many more sequels in the future.

The series has some of the best multiplayer in the industry, and hopefully “Battlefield 5” will not have the same technical issues “Battlefield 4” did.
