The ball went off the rim into SIU senior center Dyana Pierre’s hands and set a Saluki women’s basketball record in the 87-72 win against Southeast Missouri State on Tuesday.

Pierre passed Hall of Famer Sue Faber for the all-time lead with her 1,015 rebound. She finished the game with 12 points and seven rebounds.

The Salukis got off to a fast 13-0 start before SEMO would go on a run of their own to cut the lead down to three with 1:30 left in the first quarter.
