Stix Bar & Billiards is now on the market for $750,000.

Owner Greg Knoob, who bought the business and building at 517 S. Illinois Ave., from the original owners in 2007, said he can no longer run the bar because he has fallen ill.

“I may work again once my health improves, but the bar business is very demanding and I can’t put in the 80-hour weeks the job demands,” Knoob said.

Knoob put the business up for sale about a month ago.

He has had three or four potential buyers, but would not comment on who they are. Knoob said he is waiting for “the right person” to hand over the business to.

“I had one good offer, but the person didn’t fit,” Knoob said. “I just can’t let someone come along and change the dynamic of the Strip.”
