Junior Wilder Pimentel was named Missouri Valley Conference’s men’s tennis Player of the Week after going 5-0 in doubles and singles matches last week.

This is Pimentel’s first MVC Player of the Week award.

During the Arkansas-Pine Bluff meet, Pimentel held his opponents scoreless in singles play. With his partner sophomore Alex Pozo, Pimentel also won 6-2 in doubles play during the match.

This is Pimentel’s first year on campus after transferring from Virginia Commonwealth University. In his time there, he was named first team all-Atlantic 10 Conference.

Pimentel and the Salukis hope to continue their spring season success in their next meet against Illinois State at 11 a.m. Saturday in Carbondale.
