The Village of Cambria’s Board of Trustees, in a May 20 special meeting, swore in William Lo as the new village president.
The board of trustees voted 4-2 in favor of Lo to serve as village president in the May 5 regular meeting previously reported by the Daily Egyptian. Lo filled a seat that had been vacant for two months due to the previous village president, Ron Modglin’s, resignation on Feb. 27.
After Lo was officially sworn in, attendees ate dinner provided by the Caribbean Hut, a local village food truck.

The board also discussed the purchase of a new “kitted-out” police vehicle. The purchase will be made through the Harrison Bruce Foundation. The vehicle will service Cambria and the surrounding communities.
The purchase of the police vehicle was motioned and passed on the condition that the village would be properly reimbursed.
“Upon written confirmation of the process, amount, and that the village will be immediately reimbursed by the Harrison Bruce Foundation,” Village Attorney, Web Smith said.
This passed unanimously by all the trustees. Trustee Robby Chitwood did not vote because he was not present for the meeting.
